Presentation assignment
Here are the details on the presentation assignment:
GROUP PRESENTATIONS
In this course, one of the assignments will be a fifteen to twenty-minute group presentation on one of the authors and texts covered in the course.
This presentation will have four components:
- A brief biography of the author, including some discussion of their other works
- A description of the cultural group/people/tribe etc. of which they are a part, including any information on geography, culture, or history that you feel is relevant
- A brief discussion of how the above two points might be connected to the assigned text by that author, which will serve as an entry into our larger class discussion of the text.
After your presentation, you will also hand in a written summary of it. If you wish, you may include a bibliography or notes that you gathered while doing your research. If you discovered any helpful internet links related to the author or her/his work, you might also wish to post those to our blog's discussion area so that the rest of the class may visit those sites.
Grading:
A week or so after your presentation, I will give each member in your group a grade report that will look something like this:
